Clients can take as long as they need to accept a bid on GreenPal. Once you've placed a bid, it remains active until the client decides to act on it. This can sometimes mean that bids you've forgotten about might suddenly turn into jobs weeks or even months later.
Why Don't Bids Expire?
GreenPal has experimented with expiring bids in the past. However, we found that when clients returned to their dashboard after some time and couldn't hire anyone because the bids had expired, they often left the platform altogether.
This wasn't ideal for either the clients or the service providers. By keeping bids active, GreenPal ensures you don't miss out on potential business, even if it comes much later than expected.
Can You Control When Clients Hire You?
Currently, your clients schedule their jobs based on their preferences without a direct way for you to initially set or alter these dates before your client selects them. However, if a job is added to your calendar and the timing doesn't work for you, here’s what you can do:
Communicate Directly: As soon as you see the new job on your calendar, get in touch with your new client. Discuss a day and time that suits both of your schedules.
Adjust the Schedule: On your GreenPal dashboard, go to the client’s profile, select 'set up new service', and choose the agreed-upon day and frequency of service.
What if You Can’t Accommodate a Client?
If you find that you can’t meet the client’s needs—whether due to the price or the timing—you should:
Reach out and try to negotiate a solution with your new client.
If no agreement can be reached, you can kindly remove them as a client. This allows the system to offer them other bids, potentially avoiding any negative feedback.
