Starting out on GreenPal can be exciting, but it also comes with its challenges, especially when you're dealing with properties in rural areas where lot sizes can vary significantly. When a bid opportunity arises, and it's not clear how much land needs mowing, it's crucial to get more information to avoid under or overestimating your work.

Getting the Details Right

1. Research the Property

If the property's size and boundaries are unclear, tools like Zillow can be invaluable. Look up the address to find out the lot size and dimensions. This can give you a better idea of what you're dealing with before stepping on the property.

2. Direct Communication

Often, customers will appreciate a proactive approach. If they accept your initial bid, it's a great time to discuss specifics. They might be able to clarify that only certain areas of their large property need attention, allowing you to adjust your quote accordingly.

3. Adjusting Your Quote

After you've gathered all the necessary information, you may need to adjust your bid based on the actual mowing area. Communicate any changes in price with the customer transparently to ensure both parties agree before the work begins.

Note! It's important not to practice bait-and-switch pricing tactics; only adjust your price after you've agreed with your client and their requirements are outside of the initial scope of a basic lawnmowing. If you get accused of bait-and-switch pricing tactics that will result in bad ratings and bad reviews on your account and will inhibit your performance with your GreenPal account
