This Pro's Story
Stuart Lawn and Land was started in December of 2004 by Gordon Stuart. During his summers in college, Gordon had worked with of the largest landscaping companies in the United States and learned the ins and outs of the landscaping business. When he graduated, he took a small loan from his parents to buy his own equipment. Gordon never looked back. He started with 2 accounts and now services over 275 weekly accounts with various commercial accounts such as some local Taco Bell's, QuickTrips, and small office buildings.
Stuart Lawn now has 11 full time employees and their business is a member of the Better Business Bureau.
The St Louis native lives in Waterloo, Illinois now but his company services all of St Louis city, St Louis County, and St Charles county.
When asked what has led to his company's rapid growth, Stuart explains, "We love to talk to our customers." He goes on to explain, "We love to meet with all of our customers before we do any work with them to get their expectations with their lawn. You also have to be honest with everything you do and make sure you do what you say you will do." All of Gordon's employees are trained by him and also background checked.
Interacting with his customers, the physicality of the work, and being able to take care of his employees are the main reasons that Gordon loves what he does. This is also the main reasons that his company is one of the best lawn mowing companies in St. Louis.

When Gordon is not out running the day to day operations, he loves spending time with his 5 month old daughter, 4 year old son, and wife, Callie. Callie is the company secretary and runs the property preservation division. They enjoy camping at Kinkaid Lake, Rend Lake, and Lake of the Ozarks.
