This Pro's Story
William Spratt is a second generation landscaper. His dad has a landscaping company and that is how William learned the business. William worked with his dad all through high school but officially started Spratt Services in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. This full time Middle Tennessee State University student is currently studying computer information systems but schedules his classes around growing his landscaping business.
Spratt Jr has lived in the Nashville area his entire life. He grew up in east Nashville off of Shelby Avenue. "Nashville has been great to my family and I love being able to service the surrounding areas," Spratt boasts.
William services mainly Rutherford and Davidson county but cuts grass in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Franklin, Smyrna, La Vergne, Cool Springs, East Nashville, Brentwood, and even mows lawns in Bellevue, Tennessee.
Spratt has grown his customer base to over 50 homeowners and looks to double that his season.
He credits his growth to doing good work, great customer service, and being on time. "I always make sure that every customer is happy and make sure that I ask if there is anything they would like to see different from my work," Spratt explains. "We also keep in touch with our homeowners to let them know when we will be there and if there are any weather delays."
Spratt Services will not only handle your regular lawn mowing service but also spreads mulch, does low level tree trimming, gutter cleaning, spring/fall cleanup, leaf removal, aeration, fertilization, sodding, shrub and bush trimming, and pressure washing.
What William loves about the industry is being self-employed, being able to provide opportunities for his employees, and the actual act of mowing. "There is not a more peaceful feeling than mowing," Spratt says. "It's relaxing and seeing it finished is what keeps me going. Meeting and getting to know all of my customers is something I also enjoy."
When William gets a chance to relax, he loves doing so with his two sons. He coaches both of their little league football teams and enjoys teaching them the fundamentals of the game.
Spratt and his sons love eating wings so you can find them at any Buffalo Wild Wings or at Double Dogs on Charlotte Park.
William was a standout football star at Maplewood High School on Walton Lane in Nashville, Tn.
