How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
Over a decade, close to 12 years. I wanted to pursue a career in the industry I enjoy the most. Working on other crews before starting my own business allowed me the opportunity to learn multiple methods and gain priceless knowledge/experience. I founded Shotwell Lawn Care 5 years ago.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
I put my entire heart and soul into my work, which is visible in the final product. Landscaping is a medium that I can express myself through. It’s not a 9-5 job for me, it’s my whole livelihood. I know the scientific name for every single plant species in our state, native or invasive. I know what will thrive in specific conditions, what is low maintenance, and what to plant for a real show stopper piece. When I’m not working, I’m reading, researching and attending Master Gardner classes or field surveys conducted by the state or BLM/Nat. Forest. There is an endless database stored in my noggin and my favorite thing in life is applying that knowledge on a day to day basis. Your yard wont just look good, it will thrive like never before. My dedication is unmatched.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Don’t spare any details. let me know exactly what you want and I’ll make it happen. You can always count on me to show up on time, maintain consistent communication and transparency, as well as care for your property as if it were my own.
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
The effort I put into my work are clearly visible after just one visit. It only gets better and better from there. I absolutely love creating and designing landscapes custom to each homeowner. People deserve to have a yard they can truly enjoy and be proud to own.
What areas do you mainly service?
Denver, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, and surrounding regions. I also have a route that services the entire San Luis Valley.
