This Pro's Story
I was born and raised on a farm in Two Buttes, CO. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Agronomy, I went back to the farm where I have spent the last decade. I never imagined a life where I wouldn't be farming but decided to take a chance on a new venture with hopes of making a positive impact on our planet.
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I've been doing landscape work nearly, all of my life. But technically, this is my first year with the "business" of landscaping. Last fall I helped my brother during fall clean-up. After 2 days with a gas powered backpack blower, I assumed the tenants hated me. That night, curiosity had me looking for alternatives. I was a little suprised when I discovered equipment capable of providing an alternative to equipment use since the dawn of the lawn. My inspiration for starting an eco friendly company came when I realized the 20 different companies I would see everyday, all had the same equipment. I wanted to give people a more enjoyable option.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
The process of mowing a lawn is pretty standard. If done correctly, it can be hard to differentiate one company from another. What sets Sustainable Earth Care Services LLC apart is in the details behind the scenes. There will never be any gas or oil spilled on your property. Our equipment won't inform a 3 mile radius of neighbors of our presence.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Know what you're looking for. Are you wanting more than getting your grass cut? Would you like to get LEED certified or become a Green Zone? Not all companies provide the extra potential benefits with their lawn service.
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
Everything, I love the whole process. Growing up on a farm, I learned to appreciate the importance of every step required to produce a crop. The smallest amount of negligence can leave lasting consequences.
What areas do you mainly service?
Main focus is currently around Fort Collins and Greeley area. Exploring the possibility of shifting focus further south.
