This Pro's Story
Having worked in landscaping with larger companies for over 10 years, Joseph Dames knew he wanted to start his own landscaping business at some point. So in 2016, he had saved enough money to take the plunge. He bought himself a truck, an 8x14 double axel trailer, a 44" Toro ZTR, and an Echo weedeater and blower, and Oasis Landscaping was born.
Joseph has spent all of his life in the St. Petersburg area and is proud to be servicing his customers. "Having lived here my whole life, I love being able to service all of my neighbors, friends, and family," Dames explains. "I look forward to expanding the Oasis Landscaping family and adding many more new customers to it."
Oasis Landscaping services most of Pinellas County and Pasco County including lawn care services in St Petersburg Florida, Lakewood Estates, Shore Acres, East Lealman, Kenneth City, Gulfport, Pasadena, St Petersburg Beach, Tampa, and even cut lawns in Clearwater, Florida and offer lawn mowing services in Palm Harbor FL as well.
Not only will Joseph handle all your regular lawn care needs but he will also tackle your shrub and bush trimming, cleanups, low level tree trimming, gutter cleaning, sod, mulching, decorative rock work, stump grinding, and pressure washing.
When asked what drew him to this industry, Joseph replied "the smell of St. Augustine grass." He goes on to explain, "My grandfather was maniacal when it came to his lawn. I would watch him baby his lawn all year around and his yard was always the best one in the neighborhood. That made me fall in love with lawn care," Joseph says.
Joseph attributes his reliability, dependability, and work ethic as keys to his success. "Doing the work is tough but doing what you say and saying what you do is what will help grow your business. My best commercial is my last job so I make sure that it is done how the customer wants it and I will not leave the property until they are happy," Dames replies.
When he is not out keeping the lawns in Pinellas and Pasco county perfectly manicured, you can find him spending time with his nieces and nephews. They love going to Cody's Original Roadhouse on Park Street and also love to frequent Bob Evans on 66th St North. Joseph also loves tinkering with cars and just finished up restoring a 1973 Cadillac Calle.
Joseph attended Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, Florida and was a track standout there.

How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I've been in the landscaping and tree business working for other companies for about seven years. I enjoy working out doors and I've always wanted to own my own business so I started Oasis.

My work stands out because my motto is my last job is my best commercial .

What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
I love the out doors and how the smell of freshly cut grass reminds me of my Grandfather and how immaculate he kept his yard when I was a kid.
What areas do you mainly service?
I'm based in the Saint Petersburg area but I service mostly the whole Pinellas county area and I'm willing to possibly go into the Pasco and Hillsborough county areas.
