What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

Here are some helpful tips to consider when searching for a lawn maintenance provider this spring.  Insurance: You should request to see this from any potential lawn company.  Many solo guys, and even bona-fide companies, advertise they are licensed and insured.  Unfortunately, this is not always the case.  Request a copy of their insurance before allowing them to service your lawn. Equipment:  Residential yard require smaller equipment than larger commercial properties.  Make sure the company you go with is not putting an overly-heavy zero-turn mower on your yard.  That heavy mower can tear up your lawn and create drive tracks after only a few services.  In addition to that, the big commercial mower may have just been used to cut a big 5-acre weed field.  Just make sure that the equipment being used on your residential yard is of appropriate size. Contracts:  Some companies require clients to sign year-round contracts to do business with them.  This is always good for the company, but it may not necessarily be a good thing for you.  You could end up paying a lot during the winter months, when frankly, you don’t need service.  Really look and compare to see if signing up for a full year contract is beneficial to you. Services Offered:  It’s a pain to have one company cut your grass, another company do the hedges, and yet another pull weeds and and mulch to the flower beds.  Make sure to ask up front what all services a company offers before doing business with them.  This is especially true if you’re signing a contract.  You don’t want to be making phone calls later in the season to another lawn company, because you find out that your lawn guy won’t trim the hedges. Employee Background Checks:  Many lawn care companies will hire the first individual they can find off Craigslist.  Not good.  Any individual who sets foot on your property, or has access to a gate code, needs to be of sound character.  Make sure the company you go with vets their employees and has a low rate of employee turnover. I’d like to tell you why I am different from anyone else you might have considered for your lawn maintenance needs. When I say your satisfaction is guaranteed I mean it. Companies throw that phrase around all the time. The phrase becomes diluted and means nothing anymore. But when I say your satisfaction is guaranteed, I mean you will not pay me if you are not happy with the service. When I say I only want 100% satisfied clients, I mean it. I am going to show up at your property in professional uniforms. I am going to use all electric lawn equipment. I am going to weed eat around every fence, shrub, light post, and anywhere else my mowers will not reach. Your property will be edged with a metal blade edger every service. I am going to clean up all grass clippings and blow all the concrete and hard surfaces clean. When I am finished, I will go through a 9-point check off list to ensure that the quality was absolutely thorough. The last item on that 9-point check off list reads… “Is the client’s gate locked or secured?” Initial yes. If I see that your dog’s water bowl is low, then I am going to fill it up. If I see a trash can out by the road that needs to be brought back to the house, then I am going to do that too. I am going to be consistent in my service schedule to your property. If I mow your yard on Tuesday, then your yard is going to be mowed on Tuesdays every week. If there is ever a need to change your service schedule, then you are going to receive a text alert update, as well as an email update. My communication is going to be excellent. When you call me, I am going to answer my phone or call you back the same day. I am easy to get a hold of and easy to work with. I am just a nice ordinary person conducting my business in a friendly way. Whatever the reason, there’s no denying my clients love me.
