Nick McCauley had worked for a larger landscaping company for over 10 years when his boss suggested that he start his own company. With that reassurance from his employer, Nick started McCauley's Lawn Care in 2016. "I didn’t expect my boss to tell me to start a company to be his direct competition but I knew I could run my own business at some point," Nick explains. "So the next thing I know, I was out on my own mowing grass for myself."

McCauley has lived in Murfreesboro, Tennessee all of his life and lives in the Brent Meade subdivision. "Murfreesboro is a great place to raise a family and to grow a business," Nick boasts. "It has been a blessing to grow up in the area around so many great people."

Nick and his crew at McCauley Lawn Services cut grass in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, but more specifically the Osborne Lane and Blackman areas. Neighborhoods that he services include Regency Park, Palmer Heights, Regenwood, and Ravenwood. He also travels to Lascassas and will mow lawns in Smyrna, Tennessee.

He has grown his customer base to over 20 customers and is looking to double that this year and take on some commercial accounts as well.

When asked what has led to his success, Nick attributes taking his time to keeping his customers happy. "I do not rush any job I do and therefore everything I do I try to make it perfect," Nick explains. "We also take the time to pick up all the trash on the property, spray all the beds for weeds, and even stripe all of my lawns if that is what my customer wants."

Along with your regular lawn maintenance, Nick can also do your mulching, leaf removal, any planting needs, aeration, over seeding, gutter cleaning, low level tree trimming, bush and shrub trimming, and pressure washing.

His love for being the outdoor type and being hands on with his work is what drew him to this industry. "I started doing landscaping right out of high school and have enjoyed every minute of it," McCauley says. "I'm not the office type so I get to do what I want to do every day."

When Nick gets the chance to unwind, you can find him outside. He enjoys fishing trout at Caney Fork in Smithville, TN, and bass fishing at Percy Priest. You can occasionally find him playing a little softball with his friends. He was a standout baseball player at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

McCauley also loves spending time with his 10 year old daughter and the two love to frequent any Camino Real restaurants in Murfreesboro.

How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?

10 years of experience. Started in this industry out of high school and loved working outdoors. During the past ten years, I have learned many different ways to make a yard stand out from others.

How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?

Family business and we take pride in our work! We make sure that not only your lawn looks great, but the edging and mulch beds too. Our goal is to give you a professional cut at a fair and reasonable price.

What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

Look for someone honest, dependable and who takes pride their work. Someone who takes care of your yard like it was their own.

What do you like most about the lawn care industry?

Enjoy being outdoors and being able to master a craft.
