This Pro's Story
Before taking his talents to the landscaping game, Christopher Watts was in the oil and gas industry. While taking classes at Post University for Business Management in Houston, he remembered a professor telling him to make sure to do what you love to do in order have a happy life. Chris had always loved being outside and the calmness of mowing so with that advice, Chris started Lawns by Chris in August of 2014.
Chris has lived in Katy, Texas for the last 15 years and attended Cy-Springs High School in Harris County in Cypress, Tx. "I love the area and love the people of Texas," Watts exclaims. "We love just being able to be part of the community and helping people with their lawn care needs."
Lawns by Chris mows lawns in Katy, Texas, Cinco Ranch, Cypress, Bear Creek, Pecan Grove, Cullen Park, Brookshire, and even cuts grass in Sugar Land, Texas. Chris and his crew service multiple properties in the Copperfield neighborhood, an unincorporated subdivision in northwest Harris County.
Chris has grown his customer base to over 100 homeowners and also services some commercial properties around the western Houston area.
When asked, "What has led to your tremendous growth," Chris replied, "We offer fair pricing to all of our customers." He goes on to add, "We do not overprice things and we are always honest and upfront with all of our customers. We will work with pricing to encompass all of their landscaping needs." Chris also adds, "We even encourage them to get a second opinion if for some reason our pricing seems a little high. We try to go above and beyond for everyone to make sure they are happy."
Not only can Chris handle your regular lawn mowing needs, but he also does mulching, tree trimming, pressure washing, handy man work, fencing, shrub and bush trimming, aeration, leaf removal, gutter cleaning, and landscape design.
His love for being his own boss, desire to work with his hands, and satisfaction of seeing a beautiful finished product, are the things that brought Chris to this industry. "I enjoy the fact that I can work for myself in this lovely warm Texas weather and get to make peoples lawns come to life," Chris says. "Every single day, I get to do exactly what I want to do."
When Chris is not out taking care of his customers, he loves spending time with his two boys who are both in cub scouts. He also enjoys BBQ with them, listening to music, and boiling crawfish.
