Needing your Lawn Cut?
This Pro's Story
In a volunteer capacity, I have been involved in community gardens over the past 10 years—on the level of consulting, designing, implementing, and— as a neighborhood member.—maintaining beds. But I have been exploring gardens for a lifetime.
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I’ve been an organic central Florida gardener for 18 years, and volunteering in community gardens for the past 10 years. This is the first year that I have begun to offer services for hire—since downsizing my own garden space in retirement, I’m trying to keep active, with my hands in the dirt, a bit.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
I recognize local patterns of weeds, shrubs and bedding plants—in all stages of growth, making it simple to protect the ones you enjoy while targeting thise creeping into the way. And since I always try to use management techniques that build richer soil, my weed maintenance plan will promote long term garden health.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Learn to use quality mulch and selections of companion plants in your design to minimize intruders in the garden space. Then find a few like minded people to help in the thick of it, as needed.
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
Garden landscapes are among the most peaceful and inspiring settings that can be enjoyed in modern times. To care for these spaces with attentiveness and a vision for long term success is a true privilege.
What areas do you mainly service?
For the garden that is valued for its food, increasing fertility and toxin-free environment, there are few service providers listed anywhere who seem knowledgeable and conscientious. While this may improve with time, I am grateful to offer support to the few corners of town aiming at that path.
