Lawn & Yard Services Offered:
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
10+ although admittedly, though I take pride in my work, I’m not a true professional. This isn’t and has never been my living, at least not right now. I keep doing it though because my customers all seem to be happy with my work and I’ve just grown to enjoy it over the years. I used to work out a lot, but I got bored with running in place on a treadmill and doing endless reps. As I get older and my time becomes more precious, I think it’s better to get paid to exercise outside rather than pay to do boring exercises in a gym. I do white collar work for a living.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
I use striping systems on my mowers and really try to go the extra mile on all my customers’ properties, leaving crisp edges around paved surfaces, pulling weeds and picking up debris.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
There are pros and cons to everything. The advantage of hiring somebody like me is I’m not AS concerned about my margins or overhead as a professional landscaping company. I’m more concerned about enjoying myself and doing a good job, so you’re less likely to see me rush the job and do damage and I’ll probably service your lawn for a better price. You also always have a business owner taking care of you, rather than a company who probably severely underpays their employees. The main downside is, as with any business with no employees, I probably won’t be quite as reliable as a company who has crews/employees. I think I’m best suited to serve customers with yards no larger than one acre and are a bit picky about the appearance of their lawns, but not so picky they’ll insist on mowing wet grass.
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
I like the exercise and being outside. It’s also rewarding to see my handy work and have satisfied customers. Honestly, the best thing about it for me might be how appreciative my customers are after I do a good job.
What areas do you mainly service?
North Huntingdon Township primarily, but will service surrounding areas for customers I’m a really good fit for.
