This Pro's Story
Greenwood Beautification & Maintenance LLC officially started mowing lawns in September of 2014 by 3 touring musicians. They started with three push mowers and one 25 year old 0-turn mower.
"As musicians, we needed something that was flexible that we could schedule around our touring dates and would potentially give us the opportunity help other musicians by giving them jobs," Derrick explains. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee 5 years ago and has turned this business into one of the fastest growing landscaping companies in East Nashville.
They are currently running two crews and are servicing over 70 recurring customers. Derrick credits, "Personally thanking our customers for their business and adding a personal touch on every clients lawn" as how they are keeping everyone scheduling more. "We are artists, in Music and in our service.
Having played guitar on the Late Night Show with Seth Meyers, Derrick also loves the fast pace of the business and also how every day is different as one other main reasons he enjoys this industry so much. "I love being able to literally change my landscape every day."
Greenwood BAM will not only do your full service landscape needs but they also do full sod installation, gravel work, grading work, pressure washing, and they just finished their first full floor-to-ceiling home renovation in East Nashville. "We will even do your holiday lighting installation," Derrick chuckles.
Peter, Alex, & Derrick are also disciples of Jesus. Peter has been on staff at a church for over 5 years and Alex and Derrick have both lead worships and run mission activities. They founded this company as a way to minister to the artists and families in East Nashville and Nashville as a whole.

How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
Our partners have many talents and combined we have many strengths in the lawn and landscape business. Our purpose as a company is to help provide quality work and employ creative artists and musicians with these skills that need to make a living while pursuing their love for art and creation.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
We live in your community and hope to keep it beautiful for all of us. We are flexible and really care about our work on every job. No, really, our hope is to treat it like our own, or better!
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
Who doesn't love spending time outside in our beautiful climate? We-Peter, Derrick and Alex have been friends for a long time now and thoroughly enjoy working with one another on a daily basis. We share a lot in common outside of lawn work but also with the people we get to serve. One of the best parts of working in a service industry is getting to know the people we serve.
What areas do you mainly service?
We are based in East Nashville but we serve a 10 mile radius in Nashville for our lawn work. We serve neighborhoods in South and West Nashville regularly.
