This Pro Story

Formed Earth was created by Michael Trook in 2008 as a side job to bring in a little more money for his family. Prior to starting this business, Took was in the Education and Training for corporations. Having worked in the landscaping industry while he was in high school and college, he didn’t know that his part time hustle would turn into his full time gig.

Originally from West Texas, Trook and his family have lived in Mansfield for three years now. "We love the area, the people and being able to serve the people in the community."

Formed Earth has over 80 recurring customers and also has a few commercial properties including some office buildings and shopping centers. Michael and his crew also work with some nationally recognized property management companies to help maintain their properties.

Trook and his crew service the Mansfield, Texas areas but also mow lawns in Arlington, Tx, Cedar Hill, Burleson, Crowley, Forest Hill, Fort Worth and even cuts grass in Everman, Texas.

When asked what has helped him with his growth, Michael attributed his quality of work and his communication with his customers. He adds, "We try to outdo ourselves with each and every mow for all of our customers. We pay attention to all of the details and make sure we ask the customer if there is anything that we can improve on. We will make sure to spread all the cracks with weed killer if we see it and make sure that is passes the wife test." Trook laughs but explains, "I make sure that I leave the lawn as good as I can get it so my wife wouldn’t send me back out to fix anything. "

Other than your regular mow, edge, and blow, Formed Earth also handles your mulching, shrub and bush trimming, fertilization and weed control, low level tree trimming, rock work, and gutter cleaning.

Being outside and building relationships is what drew him to this industry and what has kept him in it. "I love the ability to make something look better and building relationships along the way," Trook explains. "My and my crew love what we do."

When Trook is not playing soccer with his two sons or spending time with this wife, you can find him playing golf. He loves playing at Mansfield National Golf Club and Walnut Creek County club.

Took and his family like to frequent El Primo's Mexican Restaurant on Matlock Road in Mansfield, Tx and Steven's Garden Grill on Depot St.
