Needing your Lawn Cut?
This Pro's Story
Originally I am from Atlanta, I relocated to the Wesley Chapel area 17 years ago, specifically I live in the Meadow Pointe subdivision in Wesley Chapel and I love it there. I have been in the landscaping industry since 1998, When I was 16 years old, and I started mowing lawns in the neighborhood and I quickly got up to 26 lawns a week. At that point I bought a brand new pickup and zero turn mower and I have been offering professional lawn maintenance in North Tampa ever since.
Most of my business is weekly lawn mowing for residential customers. I have been maintaining the Williamsburg HOA in Wesley Chapel for 13 years, it consists of over 130 homes and that keeps my crew busy 2 days a week. Most of my lawns are set up for weekly mowing, I have some lawns that are every two weeks but 99% of my business is weekly lawn mowings .
Over the course of the last few years my team and I have grown my landscaping business to 180 weekly lawns all over Wesley Chapel. Specifically I focus on servicing lawns in Tampa Palms, Corey Lake Isles, Seven Oaks, Grand Hamptons, and Meadow Point. So I can best service our clients we stay within 15 mile radius of Wesley Chapel on the east side of Pasco County, FL.
Outside of weekly mowing I offer irrigation systems maintenance, pressure washing , and a complete tree service for Palm Trees. We also offer full tree removals and pruning of Grand Oak trees in the Tampa area, which require a special license in the city of Tampa, FL.. Im sure you’ve seen these beautiful trees all over Hillsborough and Pasco counties, It's an Oak with a base diameter greater than 30”. So to even touch one of these trees a landscape contractor is required to pull a permit with the city of Tampa and to be licenced . I have had a relationship with the City of Tampa that I have developed over the past 15 years. When I call for for permit from the tree division they know me and my reputation for quality landscape and tree work.
We run two landscape maintenance crews all over the east side of Pasco County. Each of my crews is outfitted with commercial grade lawn mowing equipment. Over the years I have learned to love my commercial grade Hustler mowers and Wright Standers. The Wright Stander is nice because it has a smaller deck so we can service lawns with a 36” gate. I find that to get into the smaller yards around Wesley Chapel you have to keep a smaller mower on the truck, of my weekly customers 30 have a small gate, It's been so wet here lately, we have 27 inches of rain in Tampa in the last 30 days, so the smaller mower is nice when the lawn is a little soggy..
I feel the best way to grow my business to perform fair and consistent work. My business has grown on its own over the years with word of mouth. For instance I just got a customer and it was a total wreck. They saw us mowing a lawn nearby them, and they asked me “What do I do ?” I said, lets keep it simple , let's clean up the old leaves, replace some shrubs,. and trim up the existing busehs. When we finished, they were absolutely pleased with the before and after. As it turns out, less than 6 weeks later they contacted us to do some tree work to trim away from limbs to keep leaves out of the pool, and it was an example of earning a customer's business by just doing consistent quality work at a fair price. The little things that we do differently than our competitors like walking through the property first to get weeds and vines, sticks, before my crew mows makes all the difference in the world.
Its satisfying to me to know that 98% of the clients we pick up, we keep. We don't lose a customer unless they move away.
