This Pro's Story
Hey there Greenpal friends, I'm Brad. I own Canes Lawn Care in middle Tennessee. . I've been in the industry for over 20 years. I focus on quality work over quantity to gain repeat business. It's important to me that you're completely satisfied with the work provid. I use Exmark commercial zero turn and walk behind mowers and all commercial equipment. My lawn care services include mowing, trimming/edging, cleanup with blower and I also provide spraying of all flower beds, driveway/sidewalk cracks and all hard surfaces to keep weeds killed. Don't hesitate to hire me for your next mowing. You won't be disappointed!
How many years have you been in landscaping business, and what inspired you to get started?
I started mowing yards as a 9-10 year old around the neighborhood for extra summer money. I used my dads push mower, trimmer and a broom since we didn't have non-chord blowers in the 90's. I've been in the lawn care and landscaping industry for over 20 years now as a professional. I was a Senior Crew Lead/Supervisor for a large lawn care company of 12 years before branching out to start my own business. I managed 10-20 guys regularly, did scheduling, interviewed and trained new hires, set employee pay rates and managed other HR related issues. I've pretty much seen and done it all. From lawn care and landscaping to hard scaping. My passion is creating beautiful yard-works and putting a smile on the customers face. I now own Canes Lawn Care located just north of Nashville, TN. The name and colors are inspired by my favorite college football team, the Miami Hurricanes. You can find us at caneslawncare.com and on Facebook and Instagram.
How does your work stand out from other lawn service companies in the area?
My work stands out because I take pride in my work since my name and company are behind it. There will always be someone who see's our work and might need services. First impressions are key.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Remember, cheap work usually isn't good and good work usually isn't cheap. The "$20" guy usually breaks something or just stops showing up because they went out of business due to being cheap. Also, Make sure a provider has the experience they claim and they are very detailed oriented. I've seen so many times in this industry where a guy on the mower has no idea what he's doing, blowing grass all in the road or on your car, in the flower beds or the trimmer guy is slinging rocks directly at a car or house. To put it bluntly, there's a ton of non-skilled people you wouldn't want doing work for you. If they don't seem professional, they usually aren't.
What do you like most about the lawn care industry?
I love the ability to interact with all different types of people on the regular. Being outside is also a benefit because I'm not really a four walls type of person.
What areas do you mainly service?
Lawn Care mostly. Mow-Trimming-Cleanup-Weed Control/Spraying. We do landscaping by appointment only since mowing is our full-time niche.
